Siemens says ready for offers to modernize Russian power plants

MOSCOW, Oct 4 (PRIME) -- Germany’s Siemens is open for offers to modernize Russian electric power plants, Dietrich Moller, president of Siemens Russia and Central Asia, said on Wednesday.

“According to our data, around 50% of Russian power plants require modernization, and Siemens is ready for offers,” he said.

Siemens said in July that all the four turbines meant to be used at a power plant on Russia’s Taman Peninsula were illegally shipped to Crimea, forcing the company to cancel its licensing agreements to sell power equipment to Russian firms and suspend the current agreements with state-run companies.
